Reanimation wins CoD2 Nightcup #14!
Yesterday evening on the Call of Duty 2 scene belonged to the players from Hungary. In the fourteenth edition of the Nightcup organized by FPSChallenge, the Reanimation squad defeated the Czech team iDDQD- in the grand final, ending the thrilling duel with a 2-1 score.
A total of 19 teams entered the battle for the tournament victory. The competition was extremely fierce. On their way to the final, the Hungarians from Reanimation had to defeat Aura Fam, and in the semi-final, they faced the Croatian Team MiCRO, winning 13-11. On the other side of the bracket, the Czech iDDQD- fought a battle against their fellow countrymen from KEEP URSELF SAFE in their semi-final (having previously eliminated NEWERA), winning 13-10.
Grand Final Recap
The final showdown required playing a full three maps to determine the winner.
1. Map: mp_matmata (13-09 for Reanimation) The match opened with the desert scenery of Matmata. The Hungarians imposed their tempo, winning the map 13-09. The hero of this clash was undoubtedly Tekerg’o’, who dominated the server, securing as many as 27 frags (with 14 deaths). On the Czech side, K E S I gave it his all (19 frags), but it wasn’t enough against the well-disposed rivals.
2. Map: mp_carentan (07-13 for iDDQD-) iDDQD-‘s response was immediate. On the classic Carentan, it was the Czechs who took the initiative, confidently winning 13-07 and leveling the series. A key role was played here by 777, who topped the scoreboard with 23 frags, effectively stopping Reanimation’s attacks (where 1mhOT3P was the top shooter with 20 frags).
3. Map: mp_burgundy (13-10 for Reanimation) Everything was decided by the third map – Burgundy. After a fierce fight, where every mistake could cost the title, the players of Reanimation kept their cool. The Hungarians closed the match with a score of 13-10. Once again, Tekerg’o’ proved his class, being the top scorer of his team yet again (23 frags), sealing his team’s triumph in the entire tournament.
