GOTN Season 2: The Battle for North America!
North America’s most prestigious Call of Duty 2 online tournament returns. Following an exhilarating transfer window (“Rostermania”) triggered by the Columbus LAN, the scene has undergone fundamental changes. The race for the GOTN Season 2 trophy begins on January 25th.
The offseason brought shakeups across all tiers of competition. Teams have not been idle, hoping that new rosters will allow them to make a qualitative leap. The organizers have also confirmed the format for the upcoming struggles.
📋 Tournament Format & Map Pool Changes
Season 2 emphasizes consistency and versatility:
- Regular Season: Weekly Best of 3 (Bo3) matches on a rotating map list.
- Playoffs: The Top 8 teams will face off in a double-elimination bracket.
- Grand Finals: The title fight will be decided in a Best of 5 (Bo5) format.
A key change is the expansion of the map pool to nine. The winter map Railyard_mjr enters the rotation, and the set is completed by Vallente, joining train_bhg which remains from LAN2.
🏆 THE ELITE (The Hope)
Main title contenders, setting the standards for the scene.
Bricked Up
The Dominators. Winners of both LAN tournaments in 2025 enter the season with an almost unchanged roster, which is their greatest asset. The only blemish on their image remains the lack of the GOTN Season 1 championship title. The team has strengthened their rotation by adding tripel as a sixth player, which may prove crucial given their tight schedule. The goal is singular: full domination.
Janitorz
The Champions return. After a disappointing start to the year, the “Cleaning Crew” underwent a metamorphosis, reaching all the way to the finals in Columbus. Although they fell to Bricked Up there, their online form is lethal, confirmed by winning the recent Winter Classic. At this moment, Janitorz are a lock for the podium.
⚔️ THE CHASE GROUP (The Hopefuls)
Teams with championship potential, missing only the final piece of the puzzle.
APES
Likely the most individual talent on the server. APES (previously known by a less fortunate name) regularly finish on the podium (3rd place at both LANs, 2nd place in S1), but are still chasing gold. The key change? Panther, a part of the GOTEM crew that dominated 2021, moves off the shotgun and into his more familiar role, while woody takes over the shotgun.
Sedated
Formerly x6, now Sedated, looking for stability. After a sensational finals appearance at LAN1, they hit a wall in online play. However, the arrival of tanaka breathed new life into the team, proven by their victory in the stacked Media Cup. Despite a stumble at LAN2 (4th place), they have everything needed to fight for the top honors this season.
🚀 CONTENDERS AND “DARK HORSES”
The middle of the table has undergone a revolution and may surprise the favorites.
- Spawn X: A project by veteran zyk, who gathered “castaways” from other squads (including the T-brothers and the legendary Birdman). It is a mix of experience aiming for Top 6.
- Awakening: A team balancing on the edge of Tier 1. The transfer of reflex is meant to be the impulse that finally allows them to break through the glass ceiling of 5th-6th place.
- Unknown Players (UP): After the catastrophe in Columbus, the team quickly picked themselves up. The return of ethix and the transfer of tipzy resulted in a great performance at the Winter Classic. Is this a sign of a permanent upward trend?
- Goons: The most unpredictable team in the pack. They can beat anyone and lose to anyone. If they stabilize their form, they could be dangerous to the best.
- Rat Squad: The return of old friends (kkz, chuck), who were the only ones to beat Janitorz in the Winter Classic… only to bomb out in groups moments later. A guarantee of entertainment in every match.

👀 ONES TO WATCH
New projects and refreshed rosters.
- Strokers: Reinforced by broa and nytrous, they are counting on their great team atmosphere to translate into results.
- Modern Automobile: The project of eric and adept has been finalized. With Jocco on the shotgun, this “vehicle” finally has the engine to compete.
